    Default Dads military service

    Hi
I'm looking to obtain my dads military record from the MOD. To do this I need his service number. Is this the appropriate forum to ask these questions on?
My dad died 30 years ago all I have are are 2 numbers from a record on Forces War Records.

They are 22252308 and 887549. He was in the Royal Artillery TA from about 1937 then called up 1938/39 either stayed in the TA after the war or rejoined until about 1955. I well remember the kids Christmas parties at the TA centre in Liverpool but don't know which one.

I have a few pictures of my dad in uniform one in a military hospital with a head wound and one with a cap badge I don't recognise, is it possible to upload photos to see if anyone can recognise the cap badge.

Hope this is not to much to ask
    Regards
    Kelvin

    Hi Kelvin,

You do not need your dad's service number if you have his date of birth. The form asks for one or the other.

I presume you've seen the the thread about applying for records from the MoD.

Oops. Missed the bit about the cap badge.

This is the advice given given several years ago by our 'techie' about uploading images.

Have you tried using a search engine for ' British army cap badges'? Most of them are commercial sites, so I can't give a link.

ADDED: Just found this one, though I suspect it might be incomplete.

    Hi
Thank you I did not read the form properly now see I just need his date of birth.

As to his cap badge the one in the photo is not on any site including the site above and it's not the normal RA cap badge so at some time in the future will upload
