    Default MAHER, John Thomas, Hull b c1875 - WW1

    This man served as MARR, so is mis-filed in the WW1 Service Records (WO 363):

    John Thomas MAHER declared previous service with the RMLI when he enlisted in March 1916, declared age 40y 4m (Possible birth - 1875 Preston?).
    Served with the Lincolns (Regt No. 17082) until discharge in early 1919, then re-enlisted with the Labour Corps (Regt No. 694752).

    Sister: Annie SEAMAN;
    Married LILY SHAW (nee HARDING?) in Hull, in 1917;
    Children: Mary Alice SHAW 1906, Lily SHAW 1908, Kate Edith SHAW 1911, Annie Gertrude MAHER 1917.

    Annie Marr/Benjamin Seaman. Sep 1907. Sculcoates. (Confirmed mmn of daughter)

    Also:-
    Anthony Marr. Dec 1880. Sculcoates. Mmn Hopwood.
    1901/1911. Anthony Marr, b c 1881 Hull, in household of Patrick Marr, bc 1839/40. Ireland. Sarah Marr, bc 1840/48. Dunnington, Yorks. Also present Robert Hopwood, bc 1856/79. Dunnington, Yorks. Living Sculcoates.

    Have yet to find family 1881/1891.

    Many thanks, brentor boy - this looks as though the name really was MARR, but John Thomas wanted to be different.
    What chance do we poor genealogists have??
