The Western Mail, 19 Oct 1948, in reporting his appointment as South Wales Traffic Commissioner, included
" ... Mr Thom was deputy inspector general of Police and head of the CID in the United Provinces of India from 1940-1945 and the Transport Commissioner for the United Provinces until 1947 ...""dyfal donc a dyr y garreg"

gengrant - in your quest to find out how to access various records you might want to re-read some of the answers in yet another thread you have about Herbert.

That thread has also been closed.
