    Default Passenger Lists no luck

    Hi
Not sure if I am on the right Forum!
I am trying to find out when my Husbands Granddad Came over from Italy, His name is Percy Stefano the information I have is really not much, don't know his birth date but on his marriage certificate 1928 Stepney Register Office, it states 23 so possible (1905) the address for both him and his wife was 131 Commercial Road, Stepney London. his fathers name was Phillip Stefano Deceased (general labourer) on his daughters birth certificate 1930 the address was 24 Greenfield Street, Stepney. Percy died 20 Dec 1962 Bethnal Green.
I have looked on the passenger lists but as of yet no luck! would love to find out what part of Italy he came from really not sure what to do next so any ideas would be great
    regards
    Lj

Percy does not seem to be a very Italian name, neither does Phillip. - Stefano does though. Just wondered if he changed his name.

On the electoral rolls from abut 1950 to 1963 Maud and Percy Stefano live at 20 Coleville House, Bishop's Way, Bethnal Green.

Percy might have become a naturalised citizen, so go to
    https://www.nationalarchives.gov.uk/h...ides-keywords/
select the letter N, and then click on 'Naturalisation' for links to several research guides.

You might also try looking for him in the electoral rolls the year prior to his marriage, though I don't think he'd be on the electoral rolls unless he was a UK citizen.

Percy and Maud are indexed in the 1939 Register on Findmypast as Stefans.

Heaven only knows what Ancestry have indexed them as because they simply don't show up. I've searched using Percy and Maud as a surname, I've searched first names and birthdates only, I've searched using the registration code Anc have given on another entry. Zilch for everything. So if you subscribe to Ancestry search for Joseph Spinks born 30 April 1901, and you want the one living in London, inferred relative Julia.
Percy and Maud's entry, with their birthdates, is a few lines above Joseph's.
