    Default I can't find Emily in 1911

Emily Thompson born 1862 in Lambeth, Surrey. She married William Springall and they had children - some died young.

From 1899 Emily (married with children) is in and out of Greenwich Union Workhouse as destitute, no home etc. William died in 1906 and his mother registered the death. Emily had a baby in 1907 and gave the baby the same name as her father which was a name she and William had used for their first born son. No father's name on the 1907 birth certificate of Finley James Tracey Springall. Young Finley is with his older, married half-sister (Emily Beatrice Smith) and her husband in 1911 in Camberwell, Surrey. But, I can't find Emily in 1911.

Prior to 1911 Emily is described as a cook and domestic and in May 1911 she goes back to the workhouse with an address of 51 Marlborough Street which she has used before in the workhouse.

Emily died (suicide) in 1914 because she was unable to provide for her youngest son - Finley.

It's possible Emily is in the 1911 census at 51 Marlborough Street but I don't know how to search the records by address so need help please!

You dont mention the 1891 census.

There is An Emily and William SPRINGATE (this has been amended to Springall) living at 14 Chatham Road, Newington, along with their chidlren: Tinsley, Emily, Mary A,and Bertha.

Not sure if this is your family.

Just seen another Emily Springall on the 1911 census. Estimated year of birth 1861. Living at Cokes Farm, Amersham. Temporary Cook and Caretaker.

I have got the family in 1891 and you are correct there. I have quite a full 'biography' of William and Emily but just can't find her in 1911. Maybe, the Amersham one is her - I'll take a look.

Hmm! Birthplace was close, date of birth close and married 30 years close. Occupation looked likely. But, I don't think the children said to be hers will fit my family.

    Marlborough Street became Lassell Street.

    Great information from Peter.

Ive found No. 51 Lassell Street, East Greenwich in 1911:
    Maria Bridle 68 Head
    William Frederick Furriss 51 Boarder
    Lilian Wilshire 36 Boarder
    John William Wilshire 5 Boarder

    Plus on a separate schedule
