I have the birth date 1910and place of birth for my husbands aunt. I also have her in the three census listings.
I know all about her family but do not know how to find her date and place of death.
Unfortunately the last census is 1940
I know she was at that time in the Camarillo mental hospital in Norwalk county however I also know she was released a short time after that.
She may have been returned to that place.
Is it true that in some cases deaths in mental institutions were sometimes not recorded?
Marj.

Ancestry has California death records up to 1997 which from looking at Cyndi's list would seem to be the last date that they have been published on line. However you can probably get to about to about 2014 by searching the Social Security Death index which is also on line.
Cyndi list will also give you other potential sources of information.

Many thanks
I haven't had any luck so far with the Ancestry Death records.
I am sure her death was before 1997 so that is not a problem
I have tried all variations of her name as I have three!
She was born Evelyn Gladys McCulley in Washington USA but later never used Gladys but picked up Marjorie!
