    I've not really used GRO much as I'm still getting used to ancestry and find my past.. But seems GRO can be very helpful.
    Can you search for records over a period of time then, I did not realise that.. Im not yet very familiar with GRO although I have registered on the website.

    Use FreeBMD site to find Births, Deaths & Marriage's after 1912 coming forwards it will give you Mothers Maiden Name for Births. Befor that date you can find Births then go to GRO (you need to regester But its free)and you can look up and see mothers Maiden name so you can get right birth cert.

    this is so exiting!
    Having a play around with both now, just realised you can search using mother's maiden name! I'm sure by the end of the day I will have found many new relatives haha!
