A well-known genealogical site has thrown up a hint.
In St Mary Redcliffe "in the county of Bristol" in 1828
Benjamin READMAN bachelor of this parish married Elizabeth Duckett spinster of this parish were married by banns 13 September 1828. Both Benjamin READMAN and Elizabeth Duckett signed their names. witnesses were Edwd Baber and William Hamlin

Benjamin Redman was born in Wedmore in 1802 and census records have him in Wedmore 1841-1881. Elizabeth Duckett was born in Kingston in 1808.

So who are these Benjamin READMAN and Elizabeth Duckett in St Mary Redcliff in 1828. I cannot fathom why, if these are the couple I am after, why they would be married in St Mary Redcliff? I have not been successful in locating Benjamin READMAN other than in this marriage record.
    Any assistance very much welcome
    Thanks
    daryl
