Hello from down under

I am an Australian researching my great great great grandmother Elizabeth Trim who was born in Bombay East India. This information was on the birth certificate of her 9th child born in Australia. I do not have her birth details but think her father James Trim was a soldier. She came to Australia as a 16 year old girl in 1833 on the Layton which was a bounty ship.
I am looking for military information about James Trim 1788-1851.

1833 Layton - She is under the name of Besty Trim and was employed by Mr Clegg, Liverpool Road.

Died - 2 APR 1883 GLOUCESTER STROUD New South Wales, Australia. Buried in the Roman Catholic portion of the original Bulahdelah cemetery, her grave site unknown.

Death cert was in the name of Elizabeth Hackett (married a second time to Piece hackett) fathers name Trim occupation - soldier. On the birth certificate of her last child to first husband Thomas Mason states she was born in Bombay East India.

What source did the information come from that her father was James and a soldier?

The James name comes from the ? baptism 27 April 1817 ( parents James and maria) but the Bombay was on
the birth certificate of the child called Richard Mason born in 1856. Her age was 33, this makes it 1823 not 1817...Maybe I have the wrong Elizabeth Trim?

No it's Elizabeth Mason 1846-1885 who married Michael Whelan. No other birth certificate mentions where Elizabeth Trim was born except Richard Mason.

Who was the informant on Richard's birth certificate?

If you have Elizabeth's death cert. does it state place of birth for her?
