I'm a bit out of my depth on this, but in FindMyPast if you click on Parish Burials, then put Nottinghamshire in the box next to Britain, then put 3961 in the Optional Keywords box, it brings up 195 results, 3 of which have surname Eggleston
Ann Eggleston 1746-1812
Frederic Eggleston 1825-1826
John Eggleston 1740-1813
Ann Rather 1771-1811

Well, how about that! I’ll just keep asking questions, and you will find all the answers! Lol
I wonder who the 6 month old baby Frederick belonged to? All those buried with him were dead at the time of his birth in 1825.

Anyway, that Piece Title number ‘3961’ , is obviously not a gravesite identifier, more like a Cemetery identifier.

good question - a William Loverseeds married Jane Barlow, 16 February 1740, Long Bennington, Lincolnshire. Long Bennington is apparently 5 miles south of Newark and 7 miles north of Grantham.

If you look at the image attached to the Lincolnshire Baptisms entry (FMP), the name appears to have been altered (overwritten). I think it's been altered from Anne to Jane but it could be the other way round!
If wimsey's find is correct, then Jane is the correct name and both entries probably refer to the same baptism.

Yes, the mother was entered as Anne and overwritten to Jane.

Thanks all.
Very good to have that sorted, especially since this marriage record for Jane and William was the only one I could find.

That John Eggleston record does look very promising.
