    I'm trying to find my great grandparents as I know nothing about them or there names even , will have to try to trace alfred wagstaff birth cert to find his mum n dad

    That we can help you with. (She said confidently when she knows from experience that the correct phrase is 'that we should be able to help you with'. )

    Do you know when and where he was born/died, and at least the first name of his wife? The name of his eldest child and the year born would also be a help. Though if that person is still living tell us the name of another child and the year they were born.

    alfred waggy born 1878 I think , wife was Florence , divorced in leic 1932 ish i saw online ,then married my grandmother Hilda maud wagstaff.... there son was keith born 1938 I think died 1964 ? He was in the army I think.

    marriage June 1/4 1953 Keith Wagstaff. If you look on FreeBMD you will see he married a Barbara but her surname is not Pratt. Of course she may have been married before and her remarriage is in the surname of her previous husband. But I can't see a previous marriage of a Barbara J Pratt.

    Hi Curtis,

    You included a little too much personal information in post #15 about living people, so I've deleted it.

    And Christina has been busy typing a load of details while I was still looking.

    However, the new-found details about John Alfred do mean that the early medal card information is incorrect. Will try to remember to look again when I'm back on the laptop. (The tablet is not entirely search-friendly. )

    Wow , been up all night looking online , found out a lot from your info , did spot a skeleton in the closet , Alfred got married in 1921 to FLORENCE MIDGAFF , had a son keith in 1924 ??? divorced FLORENCE in 1932 ?? my mum was born 1934 ...to HILDA who he married in 1938 ER ??????/ that's not good ! looks like mums brother isn't her brother .....same dad but different mums and there not married until my mum was 4 years old or am I seeing things ! hahahaha Would you be able to get Keith Herbert Wagstaff Birth Cert on there ? would that say who the mum is ? I'm Bloody shocked ! hahaha
    And how far can you trace back on Wagstaff ? Bugger me you got 200 years back to 1822 any idea Anna who ? any last name on Daniels mum etc ...I will have to take you for dinner for all this ...Curtis
