Hi Everyone, I have just got started on my Dad's WW2 Army service record and can't find any information on the Occupational Classification, which is recorded as '018/1'. Any suggestions?

Welcome to the British Genealogy Forum.
I've been through the tables in my WW2 RAF acronyms, abbreviations etc collection and can't find anything. I'm even wondering whether that's a zero or a text O (for occupation) at the start!
Since this is the holiday season, you may find that you get a reply in a few days, or more, as people return from their celebrations.
If you find out what it means, please return to this thread and let the rest of us know.

The occupational classifications used in the 1921 census have 018 as "Drainage Superintendents, Foremen etc". That's probably not much help...unless you actually say "Yes! That's what my dad did!".
I think you should find the Occupational Classifications that applied during WW2 at the National Archives (personal visit required). Perhaps this catalogue reference...

The Dictionary of Occupational Terms, a list of terms used in the 1921 census (though valuable for most census) is available now online at
https://doot.spub.co.uk/
I still prefer the CD version but which ever one is used it is a very useful resource to understand the occupations of ancestors.
Cheers
