    Default George Upton O'Meara WW1

George Upton O'meara served in ww1 with the following units, 5 Lancers (Royal Irish) serial No. 6058, Machine Gun Corps Serial No. 107508, Royal Tank Corps S/N 107508 and the Royal Engineers S/N 112104 yet all the information I can find is just his Medal Card. Can anyone help me find more information about his time with each unit

    Hi
Unfortunately the medal roll index card and the Award and Medal records are are most likely going to be the only records you will find. This is because 60% plus of service records from WW1 were detroyed by bombing/fire in WW11
For general information as to where the units were at certain times and places you can search the War Diaries on The National Archives site here

Not sure how much information it will contain, but Officers records are at TNA, including Lieutenant George Upton O'Meara Tank Corps
