Default Help deciphering place of death

My 3x great-uncle Cyril Stanley Buckles (born 1894) died of his wounds on 24th April 1918. I have his place of death but don’t understand what it means other than it was a hospital in France.

    Any help would be appreciated

It may stand for No1 Canadian General Hospital, which was located at Etaples.

If you search using that title, you will get a few results, including a booklet held by the British Library.

    Hi
This article on The Long Long Trail site may help.

Before I found the article I was wondering whether the Can stood for Canadian. If it does then it could possibly mean No 1 Canadian General Hospital.
Others' will take a look I'm sure

And they have Nice to have it confirmed that I wasn't completely off the mark. Thanks Peter.

The location of his burial also fits. CWGC shows:
ETAPLES MILITARY CEMETERY XXXII. C. 8.
