Say Thank You to all who served

The Royal British Legion has been running a national movement to say ‘Thank You’ to all who served, sacrificed, and changed our world during the First World War.

Many events have been organised in the run-up to 11 November to say ‘Thank You’ to those who put Britain on the path to becoming what it is today. Thank You honours not only the 1.1 million British and Commonwealth Armed Forces who lost their lives in the First World War, but also those who played their part on the home front, and those who returned to build a better life for the benefit of generations to come.



Forces War Records is honoured to join with The Royal British Legion to say Thank You in the Centenary year. You can get involved by posting an image of your WWI ancestor’s, including a short dedication on the Forces War Records ‘Dedication Wall’.

Unlike other Dedication Walls, posts can be shared via social sites such as Facebook, Twitter and Google Plus, directly from their submission using #ThankYou100

So, if you've not yet used the Forces War Records Dedication Wall to post a lasting memory of your loved ones, what better day could there be than today.

Join the 1000's of people who've already posted their lasting dedication, here's all you need to do:
• Upload a photograph (image of your ancestor, or suitable image of Remembrance)
• Write a short dedication
• Share via social pages and use the hashtag #ThankYou100
• Search the site for relevant records
