Default Special offers on Subscription sites

Basicially what it says on the tin.

If you see one of the subscription sites is offering a free access period to the site, or a reduced subscription, then post the news here.

Note that your post, and any others associated with it, will be deleted at the end of the offer.

This special section means that offers don't get lost in other forums.

Thank you to timbo and techie Simon for arranging this.

Should have clarified in my first post that each offer should be posted in a new thread in this forum, so it's easily seen.

In response to a request asking if it would be possible to summarise when there might be free access offers on Ancestry and Findmypast, these are the only two 'regular' offers I can remember:

St Patrick's Day (17 March) - though possibly only Irish records

Remembrance Day (11 November) - mainly for military records, though now the anniversary of WW1 has ended, perhaps the free access may be discontinued. I seem to remember it only beginning in 2014.

Ancestry might have offers around Independence Day (4 July), Easter and Christmas and/or New Year.
Findmypast might have offers around English Bank Holidays. Easter, first and last Mondays in May, last Monday in August, Christmas and/or New Year.

I will have a think about other possibles.
Meanwhile, remember that these have been offers in previous years. There is no guarantee that they will be repeated in the future.
