    Yes I was fairly certain that he had no direct descendants but I hoped there might be a relative somewhere who might be interested.

    One question I still have though is that if the Esther Price who died in 1946 is the right one, why was her name not mentioned in any of her son's military records? The other soldiers left their effects to their widows so I assumed that Charles would have left his to Esther. Also why would the death penny come to my great grandfather and not Esther?
