Hi, I know my father was Sqn Leader Fisher in RAF movements. He was posted in Kure Japan in 1947 where he met my mother. He returned to UK on the STRATHNAVER when it sailed from Kure Japan on 05 September 1947 and arrived in Southampton on 06 October.
I think his given name may have been John ,Freddie being a nickname but he is named as Freddie on all the photos I have of him. He is not in Uniform on any of these photos.
Any ideas how I can find his full name and maybe service number?

Margo, are you certain that he is dead? If not, we cannot allow any details about him to be posted on the public forum.
If anyone can help, please do so using the personal message (pm) system.
The Salvation Army run an excellent people-finding system.
Ps, welcome to the British Genealogy Forum.

The only FISHER on that voyage of the Strathnaver was a young woman with an infant. Why do you think he returned on that ship?

I have my mother ‘s diaries, and that is when he left. I don’t think the military passengers were listed, which is what makes it so hard to identify him.
