Thread: The Husk Family

  1. #1

    Default The Husk Family

I just posted a blog entry with the scraps that I could find online about this family. Would love to know more. If there are any direct descendants or people who might know more about this family.
They were vocalists doing opera and light opera in small to mediumish halls in London and elsewhere.

Wouldn't it be great to find an old photo? And advert or something?

    Thanks Geneius

Yes I have all that and much more all the family in fact and I think Fitgerc has a tree on Ancestry with the same information. So I feel it a bit pointless giving her information if she as got it already.

Thanks, I have all the basics. What I can't get to here easily are the newspaper archives that might have adverts, flyers or notices about the members of the Husk family. William Husk, James Baker Husk, Rosa Husk and James Charles (Cecil) Husk all worked in opera or light opera between 1860-1910. As someone pointed out in the Cecil Husk thread, there are the British newspaper archives and you can get 3 free but you can't really see what you're getting before you click. So it could be a mere mention or something wonderful. I'm hoping someone here knows of or has seen something more from this Victorian music hall period.
If you go to the blog post you can see a lot of what I already have. I use the more interesting bits...photos, newspaper articles and such when I craft my blog posts. It's those stories that make the real interest. So, for example, if anyone knows of a photo archive that might have a photo of one of them. I can find bits about Cecil and his mediumship, just not the others. And I'm intrigued by the bits I've found on the father...yes I had what was provided above but thanks anyway. So, if you have anything, let me know.
