this is strange as I am well aware that you only gave your name rank and number however the addresses he gave and date of birth do not tally he was born and lived in st Pancras his fathers name was George but he was born 1880 died in 1942so neither poplar or Stoke Newington are where he lived I put these places as that is on both forms.captured apparently one was in Ypres and the other elsewhere cant read place name both captured on same day in 1914.?

What Gortonboy forgot to mention is that the images he provided came from the Red Cross records, held under the Geneva Convention. They can be searched HERE . I have also looked - he is the only William Eyles, the service number is correct and so is the regiment.
You might find them more legible on full screen.

The addresses are those of NoK, necessary to allow family to be informed, letters and parcels, etc.

Well it would appear that he was captured Oct 1914 he was getting on a bit 34/35 years old I bet my aunt was not too pleased she outlived him until 1973 he died in 1942 she lived in Portsmouth. this is about as far as I wish to take this as he is one of a large family tree dating back to 1691, thank you to everyone who has inputted details
