    Default Manston RAF Station WW2 - US Personnel

    Looking for any information regarding US personnel based at Manston RAF base in 1945.
    Particular interest in Swartz surname

    From what I can find the Americans wasn't based there until 1950, unless he was an American who belong to one of the 3 Eagle Squadrons - RAF 133 Squadron where at Biggin Hill for a while

    Thank you for your reply,

    It is correct what you say regarding the date of 1950 when Manston became a USAF Strategic Air Command base from (1950-51), then a United States Air Forces Europe base from 1950-58, before returning to a RAF station again from 1958-1999. Since 1989 it has been known as Kent International Airport.

    I have been told that USAF pilots flew from Manston during the latter period of WW2, it is this period I am interested in.
    I will follow up on your suggestion regarding the "Eagle Squadron"
