I will work through all of those - but that last one is very interesting, as I have found nothing to connect Eliza Julia snr to any Slade and nothing on Susana Dine!
This is all great stuff, thanks

Ok, lots there and will take me a while to work through it, but I can see lots of good info - I do know that there is a transcription error in the 1891 census and Kate Lewis is actually Kate Bushnell, daughter of John & Eliza. And yes, Robert Gee is the son of Robert Henry Gee and Eliza snr's daughter, Eliza Julia Wright Slade. And so far, I think that we are up to 5 husbands for Eliza snr? Was she some kind of black widow? LOL

The last record is interesting! Maybe there was no Moses or Peter Slade and Eliza registered the birth under her Mother's maiden name to conceal the baby's illegitimacy. I have also found the marriage record for Eliza and Philip Hall - they married in 1860, so it looks as though Ellen Matilda was indeed registered as Whitehouse.
Thanks

Thanks for all your help - I have a very interesting time line for Eliza now! Just need to find a record for Peter of Moses Slade (if he did exist), a death record for husband Philip Hall and a birth or Baptism record for Charles P Hall or Whitehouse

Your DINE/DYNE link
Name Charles Ryat Whitehouse
Spouse's Name Eliza Dine
Event Date 1833
Event Place Wyke Regis, Dorset,
Therefore Susannah nee Slade is your link and probably Eliza b 1834 was as you suggest never married Peter / Moses Slade
a death record for husband Philip Hall and a birth or Baptism record for Charles P Hall or Whitehouse
I’ve come across this for 1871 not a good match but possibly worth looking at

Maybe the purchase of a couple of the birth certificates will sort some of the ?'s

Yes, I am more and more inclined to believe that there was no such person as Moses or Peter Slade and that my 2nd Great Grandmother was illegitimate, which rather closes down that line of enquiry
As for Philip - doh! You are indeed right, he was Patrick and I have no idea why I wrote Philip! Anyway, have ordered that birth certificate, so hopefully, that may enlighten us further. Interestingly, I found a Charles Hall on trial in Derbyshire in 1890 - he was tried for a misdemeanor 'attempted unnatural offense with a mare'! I have no way of telling if this was anything to do with our Charles Hall, so will leave that for the time being
Yes, it's odd about the census records, look like a good match apart from the Father being John! But as Eliza often appears as either Eliza or Julia, probably not to be ruled out. I will pick another certificate and order that as well, see where that gets us.
Shame that this line goes nowhere, as also have a dead end on Robert Henry's son's wife's line.......Edwin Gee married a Caroline Ellen Spencer, unfortunately, the Mother's name on her birth certificate isn't the name that I was expecting! Heyho!
Thanks for your time, much appreciated
