    Default Warren resurfacing!

    HI
After a year or two taken up by family I am now revisiting my Warren dilemma.
I newly found cousin has used some fresh eyes and I am in need of help

I have been searching for the baptism of Thomas warren in the early 1700's in villages close to Earl Stonham.
However although he married in Earl Stonham and had two children there I am in the possession of a Settlement certificate from Framlingham which I believe is very close to Earl Stonham,.

Is there any way I can research the registers at Framlingham?
Thomas was a school teacher which leads me to believe he came from a well to do family possibly in the larger market town of Framlingham and not from Earl Stonham.

I realize birth is not the only requisite for a settlement certificate however in this case it may be the lead.

    Great to be back!

    Marj.

Debenham is also a strong possibility as he moved there from Framlingham and lived there as school teacher till his death.
Does anyone have a suggestion on how I can search Debenham records.

A few years back a kind contributor gave me a link to a site that listed villages within 10 miles of Earl Stonham.
    The link no longer works.
I am wondering if anyone has information on this ?

I used to use Parloc which gave parishes around the chosen one but I haven't been able to access it lately.
familysearch has a similar type of thing but in the form of a map. Here
Better than Parloc as it gives information about the parishes

    Many thanks!

Is anyone able to lead me n the right direction for a parish register search of Stonham Aspal, Stonham Parva and Little Stonham?
I do mot need Earl Stonham as I have that already on CD.
I am not sure if all these three places have parish registers.
Someone has advised me of a marriage between John Warren and Ann in I think Stoneham Parva so now I am keen for a baptism for Thomas.
Do I need to contact the Ipswich office?

I am willing to purchase a CD if that is where I can find the registers.

Little Stonham and Stonham Parva are the same place, so that's one less parish for you to search!

Stonham Parva, Stonham Aspal and Debenham all appear on the Suffolk Record Office list of parishes available on microfiche/film.

If you've looked at the Suffolk parish map, you'll have seen that Mickfield and Winston are two other parishes which border on Stonham and Debenham and which appear on the above list.

As far as I can see, there are no images available on line but more experienced members may know better.

Suffolk Family History Society have transcribed a lot of PRs and the indexes can be found on FMP.
To check they have the parishes you want for the years you want, on FMP click search, then click on A-Z of record sets, type in Suffolk. When you click on baptisms, scroll down slightly and on the right-hand side of the page there's a link to a list of places and the years coverd.
    Ditto for marriages and burials.
You can search for free, only needing a sub or pay-as-you-go credits to see the actual transcription.

Transcriptions might also be available on FreeREG or FamilySearch - I haven't checked.

Thank you so much for your help Peter and Pam.
It is so frustrating to live so far away!
I will check out the Suffolk Family History Society web site and see what comes up.
I may be too early at 1732 for a baptism.
A few years back I was able to purchase several CD's of relevant parishes but of course not all.
They were wonderful and provided me with a lot of answers.
