    Yes, thank you There's too many James and Joseph's and I'm befuddled with them.

    Diamond, perhaps I was right first time see #5 and Joseph Brown and James Williams are two different chaps. Mary perhaps didn't fully understand the question (1911 census) about how long she'd been married, didn't realise it related only to her present marriage to Joseph Brown.

    Oh, I dunno, think I'm over tired, anyway see what you think to what's been found so far.

    If Mary Ann Glazier did marry for a 2nd time, obviously she'd be Williams then, here's a possible mariage

    Mar qrt 1881, Hastings, 2b 53, Mary Ann Williams on the same page James Joseph Brown (here we go again with James and Joseph )

    I've just noticed that Philadelphia married as: "Glazier Philadelphia Williams", i.e. GLAZIER was her surname. It does pose the question why???

    Sorry to say, Diamond, after all that searching I haven't found a James Williams with a father John, who was a sweep. And perhaps you already had what's been found.

    James a mariner at marriage, father John a sweep (still looking for him)

    Elizabeth 1876 (possibly died pre 1881 census)

    Joseph 1879
