My 3rd great grandfather was a railway guard and I'm wondering if I can find out which railway company he worked for. He was based in Basingstoke, Oxford and Islington, according to census and marriage records. Does this give any clues?

And that is the reason that we don't allow more than one post on a particular search. I am therefore closing this one. If anyone can help, please use the other thread (if no one beats me to it, I'll add e URL when I'm not using my phone...)
