Default Canning, Down, Belfast, Northern Ireland

My great great Grandmother was Mary Canning, who is from Belfast. She married Patrick Sherlock, a printer, and had 11 children (that I've been able to find) in the late 1850s-early 1880s. The kids were baptized in Catholic churches, so I am assuming she and her husband were born Catholic too. She also has some kind of connection to the Magill name, as two children got that middle name. Looking for info on any of her siblings and her parents. I know she was illiterate. Her one daughter that is my connection, Catherine (Kate) married Joseph McCann in 1881 in Belfast; then they emigrated to the US.

    Hi Carol
I have moved your post from the surname interests thread to the County Down forum, as the surname interests thread is for listing those and then they are locked. Hopefully it will attract more attention in the Irish forums.
