    Default "No PKX"

On a birth certificate from 1942 the father's name is given and his occupation. In this case he was a Stoker 1st class RN. But there is also an additional piece of information next to this which reads "No PKX". Can anyone tell me what this signifies please?

    Paul.

    "No" means "number".

P/KX was part of his service number - "P" means Portsmouth; K=Stoker; X=lower pay grade
