I am sorry to have to announce that Pam Drake - who many of you will know - passed away earlier.
Many of us remember Pam running this forum for several years before she passed it on to the current owners and went off to rear her beloved turkeys.

It is some time since I have visited the forum and feel rather sad to be greeted by this news. Pam was very much respected by those who communicated with her on here; sad day. Condolences to her family.

I was very sad to read this. Pam always seemed like a friend even though I never met her.

I'm so sorry to read this very sad news Mark, but thanks for letting us know - my deepest sympathy to Frank & their children.
I was a member of Pam's Cornish Forefathers Society & in 1999, she helped me a lot with my Bowden Ancestors, lookups in the Parish Registers in Truro.
On a Winter holiday in Cornwall the same year, we met up for lunch at their local pub & then back to their farm for me to meet Mathilda, who was her favourite cow at the time, as she knew how much I like them. (When she gave me "my motto" about liking frogs - she forgot to put cows as well!)
After she spoiled us with lots of home made pies, cake & coffee, she showed me her "den" where she did all the work for her Society members, so it was a lovely day out for us. The last time we met up with her was in 2000, at the Knavesmire in York where she had a stand at the FHS Fair - working her little socks off as usual.
R.I.P. PamGood luck with your research everybody!
