Hi & welcome to the Forum. The National Archives have downloadable Service Records for sailors from 1853 to 1928 here https://www.nationalarchives.gov.uk/h...rds-1853-1928/
Searching is free, but there is a charge to download the actual documents. You should able reference dates with ships, however, some ships are just Accounting Bases (Stone Frigates).

Welcome to the British Genealogy Forum, Jonahs Boy. If you have arrived here by way of a link from FWR, you may find the link HERE useful.
It would be easier to help with a little more info - for example, even a rough time period (I assume WW2, but it's nice to be sure). Names are always useful as well. Was he Royal Navy? Did he survive the war? There's a crew list for the Natal when it was destroyed on 30 Dec 1915 HERE scroll down to the right day.

The Battle of Jutland wasn't until 31 May 1916, so the Natal couldn't have been there.

HMS Natal was not at the Battle of Jutland but you might find this website of help.
