If birth date 12 June 1918 there is an entry on 1939 Register at Newmarket

If you want to know full details of the entry then you will have to subscribe to Findmypast. To post more than the free index shows will be in breach of FMP's T&Cs, and something which BG will not allow.
To subscribe you can sign up for a free 14-day trial, but make sure you cancel before the end of the 14 days else you'll get charged for a full subscription. Otherwise you can use pay-as-you-go credits - think it's about £7 minimum charge.
Alternatively your local library may have access to FMP.

Winifred is very easy to find. I just entered for Winifred Foreman born 1918, and she's the first in the results -
Winifred M Gray (Foreman) born 1918, living in Newmarket.
You get the two surnames because when women married their entry in the Register was noted with their new surname.

    Hi Pam
Thank you.I am a bit confused as her marriage index is in 1944 but this is 1939-could she be already married but it wasnt registered until 1944?

Sorry, I didn't explain myself very well.

The original entry in the Register is in the name a woman had at the time the Register was taken. (28 September 1939)
When she marries the maiden name gets crossed through and the married name is written in the record. Often with the date the change was noted so you get a pretty good idea of when someone married.

FMP usually index both surnames. Just checked three examples and it seems the married name comes first, with the maiden name listed afterwards in brackets. You can search using either surname.
