Default Death in India 1920 - Burial record query

Evening, My Grt GrandFather, David Joseph NICHOLAS died September 1920 in Asansol, India.
I have found an entry in the burial records for him but it has been struck out and initialed by I presume the chaplin.
I can see that it reads "Died 16/09/1920 age 53 1/2 years. Cause of death: In a fit
Buried with Supt. Of Police permission. Buried by special request"

I am confused as to why it has been crossed out & I have not located any other record for his burial.

    Any help appreciated

Could this be the clue? Have you looked for any newspaper report on the incident?

I have died 17 Sept buried 18 Sept!

there may be something on the www.fibis.org site

Grant of Probate with Will was made on 16 Feb 1921 to his wife Caroline

    Couldn't find anything on FIBIS.

He was a train controller. Was there perhaps an incident which required an enquiry or inquest? If he died suddenly, would the police have to give permission for his burial?

Also, the return is for RC burials but he has no denomination in the right hand column.

    Clutching at straws!

Thanks geneius & elsinore, you have obviously seen the same document as me. I'm lost as to where to go next. My thought is with the family story that he was attacked & killed on a train (which ties in with his occupation)
Any idea about where to go for the news paper of the time? Thanks again
