Smile European voluntary workers miners Derbyshire

I am researching the history of a Serbian man who worked as a Miner at the Shirebrook Colliery in Derbyshire until he retired in the mid 1980's. I believe he came to the UK as a European Voluntary Worker.
Any information about Shirebrook or the European Vouluntary workers would be of great interest.
    Thanks Dan

says that 19% of the men were employed in the coal mining industry.

I can't find anything relating specifically to Derbyshire as yet
