I've found lots of Christenings for children of James and Elizabeth Carter and did ask the question did sue already have them but she's not come back yet. didn't want to post if she already had them.

Posted the 2 James as thought it was funny 2 living sons with the same name as I haven't found a death or burial yet.

Thank you very much for all your help sorry I did not get back to befor now.
I also think he dropped the Wilby and could be the John married to Mary.
The James snr with Sarah and Samuel I am sure that is John father Sarah daughter is also with them, like you I thought it should be John Wilby not Wilby John, and thank you I do have all the Christening dates one of the James must have died, I have not found a death as yet, or marriages .
