Here's a hard one, I expect this name is very popular. The information I have is.
John Byrne, b. 1871 in Banbridge, Co. Down
Married: Anne Loughran, she was from Co Louth I think.
He died in Mullatee, Carlingford, Co Louth
They had 8 children ( at least) amongst them my grandfather:
Hugh Byrne
b. 19 May 1894 Ballaghan, Greenore, Co Louth, Ireland
d. Oct 1957 Greenore, Co Louth, Ireland
m. Cathrine O`Rourke.
Can someone help me please?
Shay

It pays to double check on these pay per view sites. There is also this baptism for a John Byrne in Banbridge
John Byrne
Born - 8 Aug 1871 Banbridge, Down, Ireland
Baptised - Banbridge, Down, Ireland
Father - John Byrne
Mother - Theresa Mcgrath
So there is a choice. The marriage record/certificate for John and Anne is needed. Although there is a public tree on ancestry which has the death of John Byrne son of John and Theresa registered Wellington New Zealand 7 Jun 1907. So that would appear to rule him out but this should be checked out.
Theresa, John and family are on the Scotland 1881/1891 censuses.

Thank you Christina
The New Zealand connection is not us that's for sure.
I'm trying to get the marriage certificate but am having difficulty finding out where and how to apply online. The one place I did find only had the information from 1903.
Can you point me in the right direction. I'm betting that they married in Louth as all the kids are born there.

Shay,
John & Annie in 1911 in Mullatee:

This looks to be their daughter Sarah working nearby in the same townland:

I suspect the marriage you need was registered in Banbridge 5.5.1889 between John Burns and Anne Lughran. (Most people were largely illiterate and variations in spelling like this are to be expected). There are several options for getting a copy of the certificate but the cheapest and quickest way of seeing the original document is the GRONI site. You can view the original certificate on-line, using the “search registrations” option:
https://geni.nidirect.gov.uk
You will need to open an account and buy some credits. It costs £2.50 (sterling) to a view a certificate.ELWYN

Received the cert today. Now I'm hoping Family will agree that this is Our John & Anne. I don't like that Christanel mentioned one going to New Zealand. None of our lot did.

Hi
What is the name of John's father on the marriage certificate?
Now I can't find the public tree on ancestry that I referred to in post #4, bah.
