Hi
Thomas Tapp b.1792 Newington ,Kent , he was a Army pensioner on the 1861 census , I believe he served at Waterloo , with the 2nd Batt. 3rd regiment of Foot .
I have found him on the medal role , but Iam unable to confirm if this is the same man .
Can anyone help or point me in the right direction ?
thank you
Dean

Hi Dean,
Findmypast has attestation and discharge papers for a Thomas Tapp b. Newington 1793.
See British Army Service Records 1760-1915.
There is a reference to Waterloo but FMP's terms prevent me from quoting all the details.

3rd regiment of Foot
Why not read the National Archives Research Guide. The guide also points to "British Army soldiers up to 1913: further research" which is also worth reading.

Dean,
There is also a separate record on FMP relating to his status as a Chelsea Pensioner (the 1851 census gives his occupation as Army Private, Chelsea Pensioner - HO107 Piece 1627 Folio 360 Page 5).
