    Default The Green Man

Hello; This is a new thread. After coming up dry on the Little Wonder, trying to find if my grandparents,George and Gertrude Carter were connected with the Green Man pub (later known as O'Douls') at 67 Plumstead High Street, London SE18 or SE16. The connection showed up on my father's war service records, where he listed his father as next of kin residing at this pub in January 1945. Cheers, Greatstone

    Hi Greatstone

You might find some info here on the Pub History website - I will have to break the link, because of advertising, but I am sure you will be able to re-construct it:

    https://
    pubshistory DOT com/KentPubs/Plumstead/GreenMan DOT shtml

Lists of licencees, lodgers etc have been extracted from censuses and trade directories. Could be a starting point?

This pub was in SE18, and later known as O'Dowd's.

    Swooping off.

George and Gertrude were at that address on the 1945 electoral register but not after that.
