A cache of over 3000 photographs relating to (mainly Charringtons) breweries and public houses was found in a skip 25 years ago. It was rescued by a former Charrington's employee.

The photographs were then donated to the National Brewery Heritage Trust (NBHT) and they have now been digitised. The NBHT has made all the photos available free on HistoryPin: https://www.historypin.org/en/nationa...01312,0.042552.

I found the story on the BBC website just now (17 January 2016) and clicked through from there. The archive is certainly worth checking if you are researching ancestors in the brewery/licensed trades, or are trying to identify a brewery or pub.

Happy hunting!
