School Admission Registers consist of two pages. A left-hand one with the child's name, address, date of birth, etc; and a right-hand one with various other notes - name of previous school, date of leaving, etc.
When viewing online records you sometimes need to click 'next page' in order to view the right-hand page.
Something I discovered while looking at records for my relatives was that between at least 1896 and 1900 the school year (appears to) ends on 31 March.
In trying to verify that fact I came across this website. https://www.educationengland.org.uk/history/index
I skimmed part of chapter 3 - really interesting read.
