Default Free online Ordnance Survey maps

I couldn't see this mentioned in another thread, or in the locked thread " Maps, Gazetteers and Parish Locators"....

whilst looking for my new edition of WDYTYA magazine there is a mention of free online ordnance survey maps at The National Library of Scotland website bit.ly/1Rsdgqs with functions such as overlay with modern maps.

It is an ongoing project with mainly scotland Counties and southern counties of England covered. Although I am finding it difficult to use at the moment, I can see it can be very useful once I get to grips with it, and will probably be very useful to others.

Nottingham City Council has the whole Nottinghamshire county (and adjoining border areas) covered from 1876 in detail here: https://info.nottinghamcity.gov.uk/insightmapping/#
click on 'Road Map' in drop down box at top to change to 'Historical' etc.
