If you ever come across any Stirlingshire Postcards dated 1900-1910ish with the photographer named as 'W. RUSSELL', I would be interested, as I have just recently had it confirmed that My 2xGt Grandfather William RUSSELL is that photographer!
Thanks
Mitch

Was he THE Russell of a company that produced postcard views all over the country? You'll/we'll have to examine the cards carefully.
I suggest you visit postcard fairs where you will find trays of cards usually sorted by county. If he took personal photos too, go through trays of so-called CDVs (cartes-de-visite) about playing card size, and larger "cabinet cards", though these are rarely sorted. If you attend the fairs often enough, dealers will get to know you and search at other places they go to. Postcard prices vary widely from 10p for very common views to tens or hundreds of pounds for rare local ones. CDVs are generally a pound or so. Despite the name, they rarely give the name of the sitter.
Googling "postcard fair nottingham" finds one on 7th February. Good luck!
You might also look at other auction sites like Delcampe, which specialise in things like postcards. Listings don't always mention the photographer, but there's sometimes a scan of the back of the card.

I'm going to say probably NOT. Falkirk Museums have some of his postcards and they seem to be confined to the area around Falkirk, and particularly the village of Airth. There are also some family photographs in the collection 3 of the 4 of which I have. I have only been told this week that the William Russell the photographer was the same person as the William Russell who had a private museum near Falkirk - who is my Ancestor!

I'll keep an eye out for any Stirlingshire postcards. I haven't looked closely at the front of the cards, as I've been concentrating on the recipients & senders....I'll go through my box of 200 as there are some that have no writing on the backs that I've just put to one side with the intention of re-selling!
