I am looking for
Mary Jane Fenwick (Other census records show her as Mary Anne Fenwick.
Born 1845-1850 possibly in south shields or Newcastle died 10 May 1918 Kensington London
Lived in London Predominately at 29 Palace Gate and at Oak Villa Kingston on Thames.
She has 7 children (the first in 1869 the last in 1881) with Fredrick Greatorex they were not married and she called her self Mrs Graham -
They finally married in Newcastle in 1893.
The only clew we have is
While cleaning out old boxes, I came across my grandfathers favorite book from when he was a child – “Handley Cross” by Robert Smith Surtees. I find that Surtees married Elizabeth Jane Fenwick daughter of Addison Fenwick of Bishopwearmouth.
Other members of the family also have the same book so there seems to be some connection.
If any one has any input it would be appreciated

Welcome to the British-Genealogy forums grahambcl
I have given your post a thread of its own in the Northumberland forum. That way it may generate more interest from our friendly and knowledgeable members
Its title is Mary Jane/Anne Fenwick
Christina
Added: She married as Mary Jane Fenwick. Is this the maiden name on any of the children's birth certificates?
Do you have the marriage certificate?Sometimes paranoia is just having all the facts.

This is Mary Jane's probate
Mary Jane Greatorex 29 Palace Gate Kensington Middlesex, Widow, dies 10 may 1918, probate London 27 June to
George Walford Graham, major HM army.
Effects 1960 pounds 2 shillings and 5 pennies.
Is George a son? I see he married in 1903, age 29, and gave his father's name as Frederick Graham,
gentleman.

Addison Fenwick and wife Ann nee Robson are living in Bishop Wearmouth, Durham in the 1841 census but in the column headed Born in County? for Ann it says 'yes' but for Addison it says 'NO'
HO107 piece 309 book 4 folio 11 page 17
This looks like his baptism
Addison Fenwick
Christened - 25 Aug 1774 at Newcastle Upon Tyne, Northumberland, England
Father - George Fenwick
It may be just as well to ignore a possiblel ink with Addison at this time and concentrate on finding the correct Mary Jane. You have worked your way back form yourself, parents, grandparents, great grandparents etc to determine that Mary Jane Fenwick/Graham is definitely your ancestor? which of her children is your line?Sometimes paranoia is just having all the facts.
