Default St. George's Hospital, Queens Ward

I recently learnt that my great great grandmother, Eliza Cracknell (born Davy) fell ill on consumption and was admitted to the St. George's Hospital, Queen's Ward, in 1843. She normally lived in Westminster, London.

I can't seem to pinpoint which St. George's Hospital, and I can't find a 'Queen's ward'. Could anyone point me in the right direction to find some information on this hospital? I'm wondering if there are any records still surviving.

    Many thanks

    Pam

The current St. George's has the following address:-

    Blackshaw Road
    Tooting
    London SW17 0QT
    United Kingdom

Founded in 1733, St George’s Hospital is one of the UK's largest teaching hospitals. It is run by the St George's University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust

    There is a website https://www.stgeorges.nhs.uk

St George's Hospital mentioned above was at Hyde Park Corner in 1843.

For the whereabouts of records, see the Hospital Records Database

Thanks for the map, helachau. It may be worth adding that Hyde Park Corner is certainly within the current boundaries of the City of Westminster.

What did you mean by "lived in Westminster"? Whereabouts was she? "Westminster" is open to so many interpretations.

I googled "old photos hyde park corner"
It returned "Old Photos Hyde Park Corner - Image results" (7 images displayed) and immediately below "More Old Photos Hyde Park Corner images"
I clicked on "More Old ....." and tabbed down until a drawing of St George's Hospital appeared - 1st image in row (immediately below an image of a wristwatch!!).

Unable to post URL - it is endless - and sadly my IT skills do not extend to "copy/paste".

Thank you all for the information you sent -it was very helpful.

Peter - in 1842 she lived at 249 Strand, St. Clement Dane. Perhaps my geography's a bit off, but if there's only one St. George's Hospital in town, then the one that's been identified is probably the right one.

    Thanks again

Nobody is doubting that it's the right hospital.
