My great great grandfather Paul Woodhall (b. 1805) according to family legend owned a brewery in West Bromwich.
According to:
1861 census: Residing at 47, Parsonage Street West Bromwich. occ Retail Brewer.
1871 census: Residing at Little Lane (Church Field Tavern ) West Bromwich. Paul was a widower. His occupation Licensed Victualler.
I think his son Samuel ran a brewery later as "Samuel Woodhall Ltd"
Is there anywhere I can find out more about these (this) brewery?
Thanks i advance
Shay

The brewery's here, on the website of the Brewery History Society: https://breweryhistory.com/Defunct/Pi...oachmakers.htm No other info on that page, but I suggest you click around the site.

".... Samuel Woodhall, brewer and wine and spirit merchant of High Streeet, West Bromwich ...."
I can find several references to Paul Woodhall at Churchfield Tavern between 1854 and 1863 - but as a licensee, no mention of "brewer"."dyfal donc a dyr y garreg"

Ah, you are getting somewhere...! Wonderful.
Have just found this site of old West Bromwich photos: https://www.west-bromwich-photos.co.uk/aboutus.htm. Problem is you cannot search it - just have to plough through - but there is a small useful-looking forum. Might get some help there?
