Many thanks for all the links in the above posts - some I knew about.
I have just spent 3 months sorting through a few thousand postage stamps that I bought through an auction site and family history research had to take a back seat.
Back into again and as most of my families are from Lancashire the links are very timely.

I am a member of the Lancashire FHS, and in particular the Chorley branch.
1 year ago at the beginning of lockdown the Chorley branch took the decision to move everything on line including meetings and talks which are done on-line using Zoom. The main society has now decided to follow suit.
One of the unexpected spin offs has been that members from all over the World, never mind the rest of the UK, have been able to join in.
I know that other societies are doing similar things.

Parking: Free parking after 5pm immediately opposite Primrose Gardens on Fleet Street car park, Chorley, PR7 2EY. Also street parking on Fleet Street and Library Street.
