Premises for a Shoeing Smith

I have someone who described himself as a Shoeing Smith on several censuses and once as a Farrier. He was living at the same address for at least 30 years. I am wondering if he would have had his own stable, workshop etc. premises. The censuses do not indicate if there were any such premises in the street he was living in.

Sorry - His name was Richard Lenthall and he lived in Mayor Street, Redcliffe, just off Clarence Road, New Cut.

The 1891 census shows him as an employee and not working on his own account so the answer is probably no.

Judging by the OS maps of the area Mayor st, from the 1880s till the 1960s at least, comprised Council Baths down most of one side of the street with open space and then warehouses comprising the rest of that side. The other side was only houses ,other than one pub. No room for stables or blacksmiths
