    Red face Guernsey-Merrien-Gautier

I am looking for info on My Great Grandmothers Marie Renie Gautier-Lancien-Sister Marie Victorine Gautier-Merrien husband.
    Pierre Marie Merrien.
Need any Census on the Merrien family.
Not sure what year they came to Guernsey.
Pierre Marie Merrien born 4-23-1877 In France.
He was Naturalization on 4-26-1922 in Guernsey.
Also his daughter-Louise Marie Victorine Merrien born-5-5-1907.
Was Naturalized the same date as father.
He worked as a Foreman Of Vineries then also had a green grocers / second hand furniture store as well.
At least that what the Naturalization papers say that I got.
His wife and the other 4 children stayed in France.
He sent home money to wife and children.
Daughter Louise Marie Victorine Merrien lived with her father.
Would like to know there life in Guernsey.
Any info you can find for me would be helpful.

There is a public tree on ancestry which has the marriage certificate for Pierre Marie Merrien's marriage in France in 1903 so the only census they could be on is the 1911 but then again he and his daughter may have arrived later than 1911

    1911 census
    Longs Camp, St. Sampsons
Peter Merrien 36 Market gardener born France
Marrie wife born France - married 7 years 4 children to marriage all still living .
Marrie dau 6 born St Martin Jersey
    Louis dau 3 born France
Lucy 2 born St Sampsons Geurnsey
Cecil 6 months born St Sampsons Geurnsey
Peter Gautier 63 Married, Father-in-law, market gardener's labourer born France

So his wife was in Geurnsey with the family but possibly returned to France later?

His naturalized papers states he lived in Guernsey Bailiwick .His wife and children lived in France.I know that he went back and forth from Guernsey and France since his family still lived in France. He brought only one daughter Louise Marie Victorine Merrien who was 15yrs old in 1922 which means her date of birth was 5-5-1907.So I need to see census from I Guess 1891,1901,1911 would work and any after 1911 if possible.Since they gave his occupation as Foreman of Vineries. What Vineries would he have worked for. Also it stated he had a green grocer and second hand furniture store. He wanted to be naturalized so he could by Land.So how do I find out if after 1922 he owned land. Thanks so much.

I have just seen your addition to your thread started started in 2005
    https://www.british-genealogy.com/th...lancien-family

and see you already have some this information. It isn't a good idea to start a new thread on the same subject as it can waste our time turning up the info you already have.

I will lock this thread and if anyone finds any more info for angela75 please post on the other thread.

    Hi Angela
I have had a change of heart after being able to read your two threads through more carefully and if we stick to Pierre on this thread and his wife's rellies on the other we should be ok.

There are no other censuses after 1911 as yet. The 1921 census is not due out for a few more years.

Do you think the 1901 and the 1911 censuses I have found are your Pierre, wife and children?

I think you have found the Merrien Family on the census.Because the father-in-law is Pierre Gautier. The one child was born in france is the same name as the Naturalized papers I have.So I will look the census over. Now I know the reason Merrien wanted naturalized papers was to be able to own land or a shop. How would i find out after 1922 if he own land or a store.
