In the 1870s, Charles EZARD was in partnership with Isaac SYKES and traded as Ezard & Sykes. They were iron founders, based at Wellington Iron Works, Bradford, near Manchester. He applied to register the design of numerous small household items, e.g. trivet, ashpan etc. These can be found at The National Archives in series BT/ 43, 44, 45. Many of the items might have been registered 'just in case' but never manufactured. I do not know.

A third man, Richard Rowbotham, had originally been in the partnership too, but he left the business in July 1871 - see London Gazette, July 25 1871, p3323.

I have been searching, fruitlessly, for more info about this Charles, Ezard & Sykes, and the Wellington Iron Works. Whichever way I approach it, nothing is showing up. Can anyone help, please?
