Child of William James and Emily Holt:
Gladys Rebecca James-1896-??--married-William Fielden-1900-1934-son of William Fielden and Mary Helen Bendelow
Gladys and William-divorced March 7 1924
I did find that William died in 1934 as well and is buried in Brookside Cemetery in Winnipeg Manitoba. Strange he died same year as his son. Possible suicide, after his marriage failed and his son died?
Child of Gladys James and William Fielden:
Derwyn Almon Fielden-1921-1934-buried in White Chapel cemetery Hamilton Ontario-died of a heart defect at age 13.
I found Derwyn's death certificate and Glady's and William's divorce certificate. But I am wondering if Gladys re-married after her divorce with William. I can't seem to find anymore info on Gladys.

Thanks Christane
I had that pic for a while saved in my folder. Pretty little girl she was. I love that doll and carriage.
I wonder how long she stayed in USA for? And work was very hard to come by in those times especially for women.
At least she wasn't all that far from home as that area is just across the border.

Gladys R Fielden married James C Seville 26 Aug 1939 Erie, Pennsylvania
.....the image is on Familysearch. Pennsylvania county marriages 1885-1950 but its probably easier to search the marriages by name and place.
James and Gladys are on 1940 US Census
256 Tremont Ave, Kenmore, Erie, New York.
James Seville 1890 New York - he's transcribed as a Deputy Constable in the "Instendail Burge" industry.
I've no idea what that should be and its hard to read, but James works in Customs for the government!
wife: Gladys 1897 Canada.
son: James 1934 New York
dau: Mary age 5 New York
dau: Ruth age 5 New York
Christanel has already given Gladys details as arriving New York in Nov 1936 so its likely the above children belong to James.
(its only looking at the details of that marriage you see they are as it states James previous wife died July 1936)
Maybe Gladys was employed by James to help take care of his children....nice story, they were wed 3 years later!
Merry Christmas.

Thanks for the info.
It reminds me of the Sound of Music movie story line.
Now I am trying to find out where they are buried.
I only needed more bits and pieces for the Martin line so I switched to the James line now.
I put the Bale line on hold for a bit since it's so massive but it does tie into the James line which eventually ties into the Martin line too.

I thought I would carry on with other James on this post.
I can't find anything more on William James Reid. On the 1901 census it shows Sarah Ann Reid nee James living with her parents and her siblings but doesn't show her husband nor her son living with her at that time.
Child of Sarah Ann James born August 22 1876 and William George Reid:
William James Reid-born April 28 1898-

I think I found the info. He died in 1901 if I have the right one. Maybe she left her husband when her son died.
