Default Death of Charles Goad Soden in Saltriver

    Hi,
I am searching for the death of Charles Goad Soden possibly in Salt river Cape Colony. circa 1884.
Henry Cecil Soden with his wife Emma Green and their 5 children - Henry, Maud, Frederick, Evelyn and Olive - left London around 1880/81 as I cannot see them in the English 1881 census.
In the Family Search records, Church of the Province of South Africa Parish Records, I can find the Baptisms for 3 more children - Claude Lebeboer 1882, Charles Goad 1884 and Gwladys Edith 1885 - at St Luke's in Salt River, Cape Colony.
As Family Search records don't seem to have any death or burial records any ideas on where to search.
Their last child Hubert Cecil was born in Victoria Australia in 1889 where the family finally settled.
No death for a Charles Soden is recorded in Victoria Australia, and he is listed as deceased on his mother's death certificate in 1914.
    Any ideas would be appreciated.
    Thank you
    Louise

Henry Cecil may have gone ahead to South Africa ahead of his family. Emma and the children are in Croydon in the 1881 census.

    Hi Carol,
Thank you very much for that lead, I did find Emma in the census you listed. Don't know why I did not think to search for her instead of Henry. Fuzzy brain not thinking outside the square. As you say, seems like he went ahead to set up for the family.
Thanks again, now just need to find where Charles died.
    Regards
    Louise
