An interesting little book by Ronald Webber for those who have blacksmith ancestors. Written in 1971, it has the history of blacksmithing and explains how they work.
There are copies available online at reasonable prices.

I've yet to find any blacksmiths in my lot. My (distance) connections seem to be tin and/or whitesmiths.

I have loads of Blacksmiths in my Moss Family from Essex tree

My blacksmiths were SANDS from Norfolk, who moved north to Sunderland mid 19th century.
